Platts began assessing grains delivered into Netherlands on October 1, 2015.

Each day we publish two price assessments for grains delivered into Netherlands - CIF delivered feed wheat on vessels of up to 60,000 mt and CIF delivered corn on vessels of up to 60,000 mt.

The grains delivered into the Netherlands is from various origins, and encompasses feed wheat and corn from Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, United States, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary.

Platts CIF Netherlands grain price assessments are based on robust and transparent market data that includes, but is not limited, to firm bids and offers, expressions of interest to trade and confirmed trades reported across the trading day.

How do we assess the Platts CIF Netherlands Grains Assessments?

The assessment's location and timing reflect grains in the ports of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Ghent in 60-90 days.

It is assessed in EUR per metric ton at a daily timestamp of 1630 London time.

Data is normalized to reflect the tradeable value of the commodity on a given day, for typical order quantities, commodity specifications and standard timing and payment terms.

The survey is extensive and encompasses market participants in a very broad geographical area, including Europe, Black Sea and Northern and Southern America, and focuses on active physical sellers and buyers of feed wheat and corn wheat, primarily trading firms, brokers and processers.
