What is the TSI HMS #1&2 80:20 Turkish Import Price?

The TSI HMS #1&2 80:20 Turkish import price reflects bulk ferrous scrap imports into Turkey from a number of global trade partners. These include the US, UK, Europe, Russia, South America and CIS states.

The index assesses HMS #1&2, blended in an 80:20 mix. This covers ISRI codes 200-206 inclusive.

Other grades ferrous scrap can be normalized to HMS #1&2 80:20. These include: shredded, plate and structural, HMS1, HMS 1&2 75:25 and bonus.

The minimum lot size of a trade is 5,000 metric tonnes for a single cargo.

1,000 metric tonnes can be submitted as part of a mixed cargo. Loading window is within 30 days.

How TSI compiles the HMS #1&2 80:20 Turkish Import Price

The TSI HMS #1&2 80:20 Turkish import price is compiled in US dollars on a per metric tonne basis and published at 1.30pm UK time.

Trade, bid and offer information is captured from the global market.

Data is normalized to reflect variable freight rates and purchasing power of particular end markets in setting market direction or sentiment.

The index reflects rebar exported from Turkey on an FOB basis with the following conditions: Cargoes are normalized at 2,000-3,000 mt in size, the window of delivery is between 2-8 weeks and payment terms are at sight.
